Library Account Terms v0.1

The terms for creating and using an account on the Library — the Mebobox store

In short

1. About these terms

1.1 These terms are between Mebobox Ltd ("Mebobox", "we", "us") and you, the account holder. By creating or using an Library account, you agree to them.

1.2 The "Library" is the store operated by Mebobox through which software is distributed for Mebobox platforms (such as the Mebobox).

1.3 Publishing. An Library account is also used by developers to publish software. Publishing is governed by a separate Developer & Publishing Agreement, under which developers may license their software using the Mebobox Commercial Licence or their own commercial licence. Developers are responsible for their own software.

2. Who can have an account

2.1 You can have an account if you are able to enter into a binding agreement under the law where you live.

2.2 A parent, legal guardian or other responsible adult should set up and manage the account, agree to these terms, and supervise its use; that adult is responsible for the account and for any child's use of it. We do not verify ages.

2.3 You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and up to date, including a valid contact email address.

3. Your account and security

3.1 Keep your login details secure and do not share them. You are responsible for activity on your account, except to the extent it is caused by us.

3.2 Tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Getting software from the Library

4.1 The Library lets you find, download and (where available) buy software — including games and applications.

4.2 Each item of software is licensed to you by its developer under its own licence — either an approved open-source licence or a commercial licence (such as the Mebobox Commercial Licence or the developer's own). Those licences govern your use of the software itself; these terms govern your use of your account and the Library.

4.3 Software obtained from the Library may be used only on a Mebobox-provided device or software (such as the Mebobox), except for development purposes.

5. Prices, purchases and refunds

5.1 Some software is free; some may be paid, where monetization is available. Any price or fee is shown before you buy.

5.2 Paid items are sold through Mebobox, and the payment terms are shown at the time of purchase.

5.3 Your statutory consumer rights — including any right to a refund for faulty digital content — are not affected. We handle refunds in line with applicable consumer law and our published refund policy.

6. Acceptable use

6.1 Use the Library and your account lawfully and as intended. You must not: misuse or disrupt the service; try to access it in unauthorised ways; circumvent its security or technical protections; make fraudulent or unauthorised payments; or resell or commercially exploit access to the Library.

7. Software is provided by developers

7.1 Software on the Library is created and provided by third-party developers, who are solely responsible for their own software, including its content, quality, operation and suitability for any particular person.

7.2 To the extent permitted by law, and without affecting your statutory rights, Mebobox is not responsible for third-party software beyond providing the store. The Mebobox Terms of Use explain how to choose and supervise software safely.

8. Your data and privacy

8.1 Software you download from the Library (for example, games) does not collect data about you.

8.2 We use the limited data needed to run your account and the service — and to keep it safe and to improve and develop our products — and nothing more. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties for their own purposes.

8.3 An adult should set up and manage a child's account, and we handle children's data accordingly.

8.4 Full details of what we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it, and your rights are set out in our Privacy Notice.

9. Changes, suspension and closing your account

9.1 We may update the Library and these terms; for material changes we will give reasonable notice. Continuing to use your account means you accept the changes.

9.2 We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where needed for legal, security or safety reasons. You may close your account at any time.

10. Liability

10.1 We provide the Library with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by third-party software.

10.2 Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.

11. General

11.1 These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales; you may have additional rights under the law where you live. We will send notices to your account email address, which you are responsible for keeping current.
