Game engines

A game engine is just the tool a game was built with. mebobox works with three — pick the one that matches your game.

When you upload a game, you tell mebobox which engine you used. That’s how it knows the right way to run your game and check it over. There are three:

mebobox SDK

Native games built for the mebobox, using the mebobox SDK (mebobox.min.js) to read the controller and play sound. This is what Creator Studio makes, and what you’d write by hand for full control. Fully offline, and the closest fit to the console.

GDevelop

Games made with GDevelop, a friendly no-code game maker. Export your game to HTML5 and upload it — no SDK needed, mebobox maps the controller to your game for you.

Godot

Games made with the Godot engine. Upload your project and mebobox builds the playable version for you.

Not sure?

If you made your game in Creator Studio, it’s already a mebobox SDK game — there’s nothing to choose. If you built it elsewhere, pick the tool you used.
